Tree Bear’s Hideaway has only recently been made available as a vacation rental for the first time. For 35 years, Tree Bear's was an immaculately cared for full time family home. And that love and care is what makes Tree Bear’s special among family retreats. It’s what you really want for your family – clean, beautiful, inviting, warm and wonderful. You will feel like you are in your very own mountain home.
We can’t say it enough. We LOVE the setting. When you are here you are truly in a very private and peaceful setting with lots of space to entertain on the wrap around deck, cook outdoors on the gas BBQ, soak in the hot tub under the trees. The lot is both sloped and terraced, fully landscaped with lawns, paths and amazing trees, so it's great for either sunbathing, reading a book, or your own private snow sledding.

Kirk and I love the mountains so it was a dream for many years to own a mountain retreat close to Orange County. Big Bear Lake has year round activities, and for us it is the perfect getaway, any season of the year.
This house feels like a home away from home. This is our second year in a row in this house. The kitchen is fully equipped, hot tub for post skiing relaxation, close to the slopes, close to town. The house is well maintained and has a warm feel. We look forward to coming back again next year.

This is a wonderful home. The house is large, well maintained, comfortable. The bedrooms are quiet and welcoming, beds and bedding are luxurious. The chef’s kitchen is a pleasure to cook in. Tree Bear’s has everything that you need. I enjoyed walking my two labradoodles in the neighborhood, they loved exploring the large yard. Marianne was available and helpful. The location is lovely and very convenient. We will definitely come again.

My husband and I couldn't have picked a better house for our Labor Day vacation. The house is even nicer in person and had everything we needed for our stay. It was the perfect house for us and the backyard was our favorite part. Our golden retriever especially enjoyed the enclosed back yard and she had plenty of room to roam and explore. I also loved the chef's kitchen and we made good use of it - we never once left the house to go out to eat. This was our first trip to Big Bear and I'm so glad that we choose this house. We can't wait to go back!

We love our lower Moonridge neighborhood for its ease of access in the winter, and close proximity to skiing (you can walk to Bear Mountain, .05 miles). In the summer it's easy to get to the lake. Great shopping, golfing, dining and hiking are close by. Yet, it's quiet and peaceful.
